SOLAR SPEED - board game prototype

Everyone thinks a Game Design degree is all about the digital side of things.

Our first task of 2nd year was aimed to exercise our ability to come up with mechanics that not only functioned, but were fun to play with.

Solar Speed was developed by me and one of my classmates (Alexandra Walters), and is a trivia game where players race to different planets of the solar system (which works like a real solar system), answering questions to build research bases on all the planets.

The planets orbit to different parts of the board after each player cycle ends.

The rules are a lot more in depth than that, but here are a few images to get the idea of what we came up with.
